Please help us end Homelessness in our pet population
When I started Bark Harbor, 10 years ago, there were 28 million pets euthanized for no reason other than the lack of a home or space in a shelter. In 2008 the number is estimated to be 4 million annually (11,000 animals per day). The number is unconscionable but we can put an end to homeless pets in our lifetime!

There are 230,00 pets on Petfinder.com. Please don’t buy a puppy at a pet store or online. They are raised in horrific conditions in a puppy mill. The puppy broker will have you believe they are a recognized breeder with quality puppies being raised in their living rooms. They are not! The only guarantee you’ll receive is one that could break your hearts and that of your families. Do your research- it’s worth the time and effort!
